How to View Downloads on Nexus 7/5 and Nexus 6/9

Okay, you accepted to download something on your Nexus 7 tablet or Nexus 5 phone, now you do not know where and how to view it?, it happens. Event though this guide may look simple and already known to most of the users, but I’m sure still someone would be searching for a way to find downloads on Google Nexus 7 tablet or Nexus 5 phone, of course if you have the latest Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 phone, you can find the same downloads under similar place in Android 5 Lollipop.  Usually when you download a Word, Excel, PDF or any other attachments from the internet browser or any other apps, it automatically goes to downloads folder (if you have not provided the alternate location). Immediately you can see the downloaded file from the notification bar of Android OS. But if you want to view them later or browse your earlier downloaded files, you would be wondering how to view downloads on Nexus 7 tablet and Nexus 5 phone.

I do not want to make it more complicated, let us get to the point straightly.  If you want to view the downloads on Nexus 7 or 5, there is a Downloads app (most of us would not have noticed it). This should be visible if you open all apps view. But the point is, after you installed many apps or removed some icons (as you think its not necessary) or done some customization on the view/home screen and apps area, then I’m sure you will be struggling to find the downloads icon.

Method 1 to View Downloads on Nexus 7 & Nexus 5

You may find the downloads app icon on the home screen or all apps screen as shown below.

Possibly you will miss to notice above downloads icon when you have plenty on apps on your Nexus 7 tablet.

The above screen is applicable for Google’s smart phone operating System Android KitKat 4.4. If you are the owner of Nexus 6 or Nexus 9 tablet with Android 5 LolliPop OS, you may see different screen view, but I hope you would be seeing the similar downloads app on the screen.
